The Blood Donation Event at Bucak Hikmet Tolunay Transportation and Logistics Vocational School Received Intense Interest

Within the scope of the social responsibility project “Young Blood on Campus - MAKÜ Gives Life” carried out by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, a Red Crescent Blood Donation Event was held on May 13, 2026, hosted by Bucak Hikmet Tolunay Vocational School of Transportation and Logistics.

The event, organized to raise awareness about blood donation in the community and to emphasize the importance of regular blood donation, was carried out with the intense participation of our academic staff and students. Throughout the day, volunteer donors donated blood to bring hope to those in need.

As a token of appreciation for the students who donated during the event, thermos mugs were gifted, while students also had the opportunity to earn event points through the QR code scanning system via the MAKÜ Plus application.

The event highlighted that blood donation is not only a necessity in emergencies but also a continuous need; solidarity, social responsibility, and the awareness of volunteering came to the forefront. The sensitivity shown by our students and academic staff became a concrete indicator of the importance given to social responsibility projects.
