The Accounting and Tax Applications Program is a two-year associate degree program aimed at training qualified intermediate staff needed by businesses in the fields of accounting and finance. The main objective of the program is to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills to effectively carry out the processes of classifying, recording, analyzing, reporting, and interpreting transactions that occur in businesses and can be expressed in monetary terms. In line with this goal, the program aims to respond to the needs of the business world by training professionals who are committed to professional ethical values, can follow current legislation in their field, think analytically, use technology effectively, and have a lifelong learning awareness.
During the education period of the program, students acquire theoretical knowledge in areas such as accounting, taxation, law, economics, and basic business administration, while also gaining practical competencies to apply this knowledge. The program offers courses in general accounting, cost accounting, corporate accounting, and field-specific accounting based on the Uniform Accounting System. Additionally, alongside accounting courses, courses in tax law, commercial law, labor and social security law, as well as courses in information technologies and software packages are provided to enhance students' skills in performing accounting transactions in digital environments.
Through the mandatory internship application covering 20 working days included in the program, students have the opportunity to experience the knowledge they acquire during their education in a real work environment. As a result, graduates are equipped to work in freelance accounting and certified public accounting offices, in the accounting and finance departments of businesses, and in the relevant departments of public institutions.
Students who successfully complete the program graduate with the title of “Accounting Professional.” Graduates can also apply for the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM and continue their academic education by transitioning to relevant undergraduate programs. Graduates who complete undergraduate programs can obtain the title of Certified Public Accountant if they meet the necessary conditions specified in the Law No. 3568 on Certified Public Accountancy and Sworn-in Public Accountancy, allowing them to practice their profession independently.
The quality of the program's education is continuously evaluated based on student feedback, graduate tracking studies, and opinions from industry representatives. In light of the data obtained, course contents, teaching methods, and program outcomes are updated to ensure continuous improvement.
