About the Programme

The Business Management Program is conducted within the Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Bucak Hikmet Tolunay Vocational School of Transportation and Logistics. The school was established in 1995 under the name Bucak Hikmet Tolunay Vocational School, was affiliated with Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University in 2006, and adopted its current name in 2026. The Business Management Program was opened in 1996 under the name of Business Administration Program, admitted its first students in 1997; it was renamed Business in 2003 and Business Management in 2006.

The Business Management Associate Degree Program trains professionals who will work in management, accounting, finance, marketing, human resources, and office services of businesses and public institutions of various scales. The program integrates business knowledge with legislation, information technologies, and software applications, providing an entrepreneurial perspective.

To train professionals who know and apply management functions, are proficient in business legislation, effectively use information technologies and software programs, are compatible with teamwork, and adhere to ethical values.

Programme Educational Objectives

PEA1: Graduates apply basic business knowledge in the management, accounting, finance, marketing, and human resources departments of businesses.

PEA2: Graduates effectively use information technologies and software programs in business processes.

PEA3: Graduates apply legislation related to the establishment and operation of businesses, ensuring compliance with office order and teamwork.

PEA4: Graduates act with an awareness of entrepreneurship, business ethics, and social responsibility, and continue their professional development.

Programme Outcomes

Students who successfully complete the programme achieve the following programme outcomes (PO):

  1. Possesses basic knowledge and skills related to the Business Administration.
  2. Uses advanced level package program used in information Technologies related to the business administration.
  3. Has a command of management functions in theory and applies this knowledge to practice.
  4. Adapts to the Office environment, working conditions and team work.
  5. Explains legislation related to founding and running processes of businesses.

Internship

In the Business Management Program, students must complete a 20 working days mandatory internship as a graduation requirement. The internship is carried out in public or private sector organizations suitable for the program's professional field, in accordance with the Internship Directive of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Vocational Schools and the internship calendar determined by the School Board.

Graduates who successfully complete the program can work in the following areas:

Accreditation

The Business Management Program of Bucak Hikmet Tolunay Vocational School of Transportation and Logistics is continuing self-evaluation and accreditation preparation studies in accordance with the criteria of the Association of Vocational Schools Accreditation (MEDEK).

The educational activities of the program are regularly reviewed with a continuous improvement approach based on the opinions of students, graduates, and employers, as well as the recommendations of the program advisory board.

Activity reports related to the program, unit self-evaluation reports, student and stakeholder survey results, and performance indicators are published on our school's quality pages.

Continuous Improvement

Within the program, student satisfaction surveys, advisory meetings, internal and external stakeholder opinions, and graduate feedback are regularly evaluated. Improvement activities are planned, implemented, and necessary updates are made based on the data obtained.
