Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Bucak Hikmet Tolunay Vocational School Child Development Program is a 2-year associate degree program that high school graduate students can enter based on the results of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS). Students are also admitted to the program through lateral transfer. The conditions for lateral transfer are regulated by the university administration each year through regulations/guidelines. Graduates of the Child Development Program are awarded the "Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Bucak Hikmet Tolunay Vocational School Associate Degree Diploma."
Students who graduate from this program with sufficient knowledge and skills meet the need for intermediate staff in public and private sectors in preschool education institutions, integration schools, and special education institutions.
The main aim of the Child Development Program is to train personnel who embrace the importance of child development and education, recognize the developmental characteristics of children, are knowledgeable about their habits and needs, and can take precautions against problems children may encounter.
Additionally, the program aims to train technical personnel who can recognize children in need of special education, organize suitable educational environments for these children, are conscious about maternal health, can prepare educational toys suitable for children's developmental levels and evolving technology, and can prepare daily menus and foods in accordance with principles in the institution they work for.
