The Accounting and Tax Applications Program is a two-year associate degree program aimed at training qualified intermediate staff needed in the accounting and finance fields of businesses. The main objective of the program is to provide professional staff with the knowledge and skills to effectively carry out the processes of classifying, recording, analyzing, reporting, and interpreting transactions that occur in businesses and can be expressed in monetary terms. In line with this objective, the program aims to meet the needs of the business world by training professional staff who adhere to professional ethical values, can follow current legislation in their field, think analytically, use technology effectively, and have a lifelong learning awareness.
During the education period of the program, students acquire theoretical knowledge in areas such as accounting, tax, law, economics, and basic business management, while also gaining practical competencies to transform this knowledge into practice. Within the scope of the program, based on the Uniform Accounting System, courses in general accounting, cost accounting, company accounting, and field-specific accounting are provided. In addition to accounting courses, courses such as tax law, commercial law, labor and social security law are offered to enhance legislative knowledge, and courses like information technologies and software packages are provided to develop students' skills in performing accounting transactions in a digital environment.
Thanks to the mandatory internship application covering 20 working days included in the program, students have the opportunity to experience the knowledge they have acquired during their education in a real work environment. In this way, graduates become equipped to work in independent accountant financial consultancy and certified public accountant offices, in the accounting and finance departments of businesses, and in the relevant departments of public institutions.
Students who successfully complete the program graduate with the title of “Accounting Professional Staff.” Graduates can also apply for the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM and continue their academic education by transferring to relevant undergraduate programs. Graduates who complete undergraduate programs and meet the necessary conditions specified in the Law No. 3568 on Independent Accountant Financial Consultancy and Certified Public Accountancy can obtain the title of Independent Accountant Financial Consultant and have the opportunity to practice their profession independently.
The quality of education in the program is continuously evaluated based on student feedback, graduate tracking studies, and opinions received from sector representatives. In light of the data obtained, course contents, teaching methods, and program outcomes are updated to ensure continuous improvement.
